Having recently reviewed last years accounts, I've ascertained that despite increasing the workforce for the Marketing & Sales team by 10%, the net profits for the Marketing Department were down by £110k!! ( circa 33%).
The 'official' explanation/excuse by David Acfield was that profits from Marketing activities were down due to the economic environment and not having a ground naming sponsor. With regard to the former, the economy was much healthier in 2013 compared with 2012, as reflected in the GDP figures etc...and why have we not been able to get a sponsor, even for a short duration i.e.2/3 years?
