Hyams been behind the scenes for yonks didn't realise he ran 2nd xi now, nothing player and a nothing developer of talent it appears, thanks for your service good bye. Take Huggins with you.
We have one of the biggest pools of talent in the country yet we have zilch coming through if that's not sackable I don't know what is.
This isn't a worthy statement, we have 3 players under 21 (not sure about Das) currently playing in the Firsts today, Richards and Benkenstein playing in what is the next step from u19s against Zimbabwe, has any other County in the country got this amount of players doing the same at these levels?
What would be a more worthy statement is to look and see once they get to this level, how many progress, become capped and emulate Sam Cook.
The next 3 cabs on the rank are Fernandes, Ali Zeb and Reuben Thain, so that is a pathway that is producing talent.
Rubbish.
Appreciate you are possibly in with some of those being criticised, but if they provide dross to the first team and they play as no one else given the small squad size, does that meas it's a successful pathway? I'm not saying those players are dross just hypothetical speaking.
Look at the readymade impactful youngsters others produce. Sussex for starters let alone Somerset (who have a comparable talent pool to us).
As you are a qualified coach within the cricketing world, then I bow to your superior knowledge, without a circus this forum would not exist.
One or possibly Two of the names that you knock will make it either here or somewhere else and if you understand the coaching path you will realise that the Pathway is working, its when they don't develop in the first team, that's where it falls over, which is ultimately the individual coaches fault.
At present we have more players coming through than ever before, we are lucky as we have no money to throwaway, look at Lancashire and then throw bricks!
