The accounts for 2021-2022 show the club spent 460k on legal fees in 2022 and 300k in 2022.

2020-2021 (covid) accounts show turnover of around 6.5 million and expenditure of 6.6 million = a loss of 178k which did not include the legal fees.

Cash in hand at the end of 2021 was 1.6 million.

2021-2022 accounts show turnover of 8 million and expendure of 8.1 million = a loss of 53k which did not include the legal fees.

Cash in hand at the end of 2022 was down to 1 million.

One would presume the club would still have around 600k in cash in the bank but in order to stop making small losses and start to make small profits then some cost cutting measures need to be implemented.

To reduce costs they could remove the ludicrous use of external security staff for CC matches.

Agreed
Also the Open ground ( brought in so the public can circle the ground and have  easier access to the shop,)uses a number of stewards,  that would not be needed if that "experiment" was abandoned.
No steward needed at the Pavillion entrance,no stewards at the steps of Tom Pearce stand
No steward needed at  players entrance, (the one positioned by the Pavillion  steps would act as security to the Pavillion) ,  but an additional  one would be needed where the old sentry box used to be. So a saving of 3 stewards at ?100 a day  would soon add up.
The shop have not had any noticeable increase in takings since it was introduced.

What if someone tried to smuggle an umbrella in?

Call me reckless but it's a risk I think they should take.

Can only speak has I found.
Most accessible person in the position held  since Peter Edwards, made himself available to speak to members during match days around the ground. Even contacted me personally when sent a question to the club. A turbulent time during his stay off field, and must have known those reprimanded from the Newton Report.
For those like me who are not privy to the corridors of power, seemed to bring the post into the 21st century.
