India are the best team in this tournament by a mile and the whole tournament has been pretty much catered to them by the ICC but the people that run this England team are incredibly inept.  To have a top 6 that has both Moeen Ali and Sam Curran in it is bordering on farcical.  Moeen has done nothing in white ball cricket for years and Curran is at best a number 8.  Playing bits and pieces players in conditions made for a brilliant bowling attack is never going to work.

Cupboard now pretty empty internationally, ex 50 and 20 over champions and no urn, in our possession.
Perhaps Mr Key would like to explain are inaccuracies.

England captain Jos Buttler promised a thorough review will take place after his side's up-and-down T20 World Cup that ended with a semi-final thrashing at the hands of India.

Another review ?
Lost badly to the decent sides, blitzed the also rans. Really have gone from Champs to Chumps  in white ball cricket. Cannot recall Mr Key putting this scenario on his introduction , or did I miss something.

Seems obvious to me that Buttler should not be captain of this or any other side. He is a sensitive soul, which might be an appealing personal quality, but it also means he's far too easily affected by personal or team failure to be a captain. Despite his record as one of the world's leading white-ball players, he's now gone through 50 and 20 over world cups with very few meaningful batting contributions. His demolition of the USA bowlers was his only significant innings in this tournament. Someone else (admittedly I'm not sure who) needs to take the captaincy and free him up to do what he has done so well in the past.

More generally there's an obvious need for a changing of the guard and the promotion of new blood. It's telling that the only England batsmen to have had a half-decent tournament were Salt and Brook, new generation players. Brook actually looked the most capable and level-headed of the middle order, which is quite an indictment of the much more experienced players around him. If Livingstone stays in the side he needs to bat higher up - we'll never find out what he can do if he's locked into in this role where he mostly only bats in the final few overs.

The bowling was better than the batting (not saying much, I know) - Rashid was outstanding but must be near the end now, and Archer exceeded expectations given his long lay-off. Wood was disappointing, just too wild. Jordan's hat-trick in Barbados was a great feelgood moment, but I've never been convinced that he's truly international class, and even if he ever was, he must also be at the end.

India and SA have been the best teams by a country mile and fully deserve to be in the final. Everyone seems to think India will waltz it but SA have looked very impressive, repeatedly winning through in tense finishes.. maybe it's finally their time.

India have looked several classes above anyone else.  SA struggled against Nepal, Bangladesh and Holland.  SA could easily have lost to England whereas India thrashed them out of sight.  India did this in the 50 over world cup where they dominated until losing the Final but they do look vastly superior to everyone else.

Great final. Probably some will see it as another choke by SA but the Indian pacemen, particularly Bumrah, were phenomenal in those final overs. Sensational catch in the final over too.

Agree good final, with SA once on par with deliveries / runs looking nailed on four overs out, but the Indians, just like the game against Pakistan, bowled and fielded themselves to victory with Bumrah outstanding.

Good tournament with underdogs getting results amongst the elite and bowlers showing theirs skills on pitches more responsive, than the boring batters heaven.
And England, Wood, Bairstow and Mo this must be the last T20.

Bumrah was outstanding and that catch from SKY was exceptional. I really enjoyed that final, probably even more for the absence of England. But this may haunt another generation of South African players. They were 97% to win on the win predictor at one stage.

I'd agree that this is probably the last T20I for Mo, Bairstow and Wood (and Jordan), probably Rashid as well (much as though I hope he continues). Probably the end as captain for Buttler and Mott as coach. No idea who the next captain could be though.

I can't wait for the return of test cricket though. It's almost here.
