I think Hampshire should rename themselves as Vinceshire.

He has virtually single handed this season, carried Hampshire, batting wise.

When on song, no better batsman and his cover driving something to behold.

I am fortunate to see Vince very often as I live in Hampshire.

No disgrace to lose to Hampshire, for when they turn up, are a  very good side.

We did not help ourselves by strange tactical errors, mainly toss and that scoreboard pressure is always worth a couple of wickets.

As for Lawrence, same old, same old.

He seems to be going backwards. Is incapable of constructing and pacing an innings. Very worrying.

Cannot see him making the England team, especially considering the progress shown over the winter by his three greatest challengers, Pope, Duckett and Brook.

However silver cloud , no England, many more appearances  for Essex. I only hope he makes them count.

There should have been a bit of common sense used towards the end as well.  We should have batted out the overs with the last 3 or 4 wickets.  In the event of being level on points our run rate is pretty much certain to be worse than anyone we’re level with.

No way they were going to just play out the innings. The crowd wouldn't accept it and the players don't have the mindset. Batting first would have almost certainly made a closer game, win or lose.

Couldn’t even make any sort of competition of the game. From first over from 4th choice spinner on an unresponsive pitch they never looked back. Little excitement for Fans. First T20 match for my 12 year old Grandson - don’t think he will be very keen to go again after that.

A miserable night, cold weather killed the atmosphere and the a total non-event on the field.

Rossington looked ready to have his one big knock for the year but that ridiculously bad decision summed the night up...rubbish.

And the club will get a bill for the broken window in Hayes Close.

I would be cutting the umpire some slack for that. It was a freak occurrence, the ball hitting the off bail but not dislodging it. Umpire obviously heard the noise, so an understandable error rather than a howler, I'd say. Unfortunate for Rossington to be given out caught behind, but then again he was only saved from being bowled by a freak event.
