Thanks for post, it is to do with council planning permission. Anything over the allotted days would require us to apply for perm planning permission. This would be hugely expensive and change it's land use

If Meteor way was available on Wednesday ( instead of Sundays ) only TWO extra days required to cover all  LVCC matches.
I have no cause to come to Chelmsford except for the cricket, so when my membership becomes uneconomical, which five extra paid parking days has to be included, it will literally drive me away.
So please note Council and committee

We added the Sundays following feedback and the need to use all of the dates we apply for. If we were to say not use 3 or 4 day four days we could, in future years, have the allocation cut back.

There are also some large scale events on Sundays in Central Park which will reduce parking in the City Centre and surrounding roads.

We are trying all we can to add additional dates and provide as many spaces as possible. Thanks

Clearly correct to pick Sundays as opposed to last day Wednesdays. Much bigger crowds and no games will have finished by then. Yes there are less parking restrictions (but more residents at home) and those spaces near to the ground would soon fill up.

What I don't understand is the basis of the arrangement with the Council. You talk of our "allocation" being cut back, what form does this "allocation" take? I wouldn't have thought they would penalise us for skittling out the opposition a day early (or more likely being skittled out) I thought it was capped due to planning permission criteria. Is it a commercial arrangement or merely largesse from the Council ?

Thanks, we pay the council a hire charge based on the number of days they will allow us.

That is the maximum we currently can have, thanks
