Club Accounts
« on: November 17, 2022, 01:26:08 PM »
The 2021 Accounts have been published and sent to members.

Club would have had a small deficit - but... they estimate that the allegations and the report will cost £450,000!

Sue, Grabbit and Runne of Cheapside are no doubt rubbing their hands.
I can only hope that the club's estimate is a worse case scenario.
Just think what else we could have done with £450K to spend on the ground, players, facilities ....... excuse me while I go and cry in my beer.

I noted that when it was stated that John Faragher had left, there was no thanks for his service to the Club.

No mention in the accounts of my ripped off 2020 subscription. Should it be under legacies and gifts as a number of members in a similar position called the payment.

And there we are. For all those saying we should have signed x y z, o done this to the ground.

2 committee men who's nose was put out of joint by JF have caused this along with some failed players who were never good enough yet trying to grift some money. Disgusting set of affairs.

Essex supporters should be eternally grateful to those 2 committee men and those failed players for this, if i see them i will voice my appreciation.... I wonder if that factors in any compensation (not sure what for - alleged hurt feelings, or the globetrotting test and t20 careers those players would otherwise have had?) for the allegations?

what a world we live in where he said she said, unprovable claims, without any onus on the burden of proof, costs 1/2 a mill. sickening.

Too bloody true.
Highly recommended read on this topic: "The Allegations" by Mark Lawson. Fiction, but plainly based on the author's own experiences. While reading it, I felt sure I'd met the creeps from the HR department - renamed to "Humans" and then "Workplace Happiness" - who persecute one of the characters on the basis of uncorroborated allegations.

Of course, it could always be the case that the allegations have some truth as well.
