Rumour has it that Bopara and Chopra have effectively downed tools unless the club give them what they want contractually i.e. new two year contracts with the right to play in any franchise cricket to maximise their income. Just a rumour but if they were injured why not just tell us.

Bopara isnt injured, he played monday.

If that is the case, then laters chaps, close the door on the way out.  Oh, and considering you are refusing to work while still under contract, you will be fined your wages.

I ideal opportunity for the club to get a younger batter in the winter and give Patel a go.

Sad in a way, but you can't hold your (main) employers to ransom, if that is indeed true, Chopra hasn't cut in red ball since returning, Ravi will be a loss especially in white ball. Interesting to see if he goes whether he will get any lucrative offers from other Counties (Surrey, Hants, Warwicks?) & if so will they be happy for him to dictate what he wants to do.

Absolutely agree with what you say.

If, and it is a big if, this is true, I have zero respect for the pair and the sooner they go the better.  Not a good look lads.  Hope it blows up in their faces (if true).

I think there are 2 T20 games for the seconds today.  Interesting to see who plays in that

, I couldn't believe the streaker was allowed to run around so much & got within a foot or two of Amir (good job he didn't have a weapon or say something racist), but the Stewards were very slow to react, if they did at all.

Yes, and the straker went back to his seat, got dressed, then legged it over the wall into the flats and into the street outside. There was a steward standing at the exit - made no attempt to catch him, while one other steward (on his own) attempted to stop him by running from the next stand.

If he was carrying a bag the stewards would have made every effort to stop him and search his bag.

1st game   Chopra, Pepper, Patel, Rymell, Buttleman, Agedah, Plom, Allison, Cook, Porter, Nijjar.

No Bopara.  No Khushi either, perhaps he  may play tonight?

I don't buy the theories. Chopra has simply been dropped. I'd wager Ravi is either injured again or will play tonight. Perhaps they are nursing Ravi trough a dodgy back.

I've heard similar rumours about not playing due to contractual disputes.  There was something said at one of the forums recently about the players having been given a deadline to sign contracts.  Maybe the deadline is passed and they wont be picked unless they sign?  Chopra is playing again for the 2nds today so he hasn't downed tools.

If Ravi is nursing an injury why has he kept turning out for the 2nds?

I doubt Chopra has been dropped.  He's been our best white ball batsman over the last couple of years.  3 failures shouldnt be enough to be left out of a very poor t20 team.

So why is he in the 2 team today- when we have a match this evening? There's something rather 'odd'.

Is it that he has upset them (say re the Euro comp), so they are putting him in 2nd's to send a message. Seems very odd that our best white ball batsman is not in the first team.

Simple.  Ask Mootown: he's Ravi's friend.
