Woe betide if Manchester is included in the name of the OT team, it will alienate the rest of Lancs instantly especially Liverpool who definitely won't want to follow anything bearing the name Manchester.

"Sky will show the competition with the BBC, which has not broadcast cricket in the UK since 2005"

and won't be broadcasting it in 2020, either.

Calm down, calm down.  Otherwise I'll send Danny Dyer round to lower your IQ...

Odd that US soccer teams use British sounding monikers to sound authentic whereas these 100 franchises have gone the other way & adopted Yank style names.

In case you have not seen this elsewhere:-

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/cricket/ecb-apply-for-trademarks-for-six-hundred-teams-a4153931.html

names:-

London Spirit (Lords) Welsh Fire (Cardiff), Southern Brave (Southampton), Birmingham Phoenix, Leeds Superchargers and Trent Rockets (Nottingham)

London Spirit sounds like a somewhat dodgy gin.

I am waiting for the kit to be unveiled. I hope in line with everything else it is provided by an Imperial kit supplier. Especially for the ladies 100.

I think we should sign Trent Rockets for next season. Presumably with that name he's a South African leggie?

Northampton? That's the Midlands!

From the article "For instance, London Spirit will be run by a combination of the MCC, the owners of Lord’s, Middlesex, Essex and Northamptonshire"
