Quite a shock that both England captains did not get a IPL deal. Has the gravy train been derailed, wonder if some players have had a realality check.
Presume the ECB are quite happy with several other ODI squad players did also not get the ride .

Morgan doesn't have a great record in a lot of these T20 tournaments.  The english players have always been at a bit of a disadvantage because most aren't made available for the whole IPL.
I think the ecb would prefer that the white ball only players got the chance to play but prefer the likes of Root and Bairstow to rest.

Chris Gayle nearly didn't get sold. That would've made him blush, baby.

To put it bluntly there is still a racial divide. As a general rule Indian team owners value Indian/Asian players more than English/Aus/NZ players.

They like West Indian players too, I think the owners go for foreigners whom they feel add something different. English Fast medium trundlers and batsmen who can't clear the ropes easily aren't for them, although this is clearly changing - reflecting the benefits of the IPL for developing our white ball team?
