Top day out at Coggeshall today. Two declarations and an exciting chase and great range of real ale. There is a T20 double header tomorrow. Get there if you can!

As ever, a great week at Coggeshall, exceptionally well attended and good facilities. Always a pleasure attending.

Shame about the weather, very cold wind and overcast for most of the week.

We reckoned over 300 there yesterday. We were close to the marquee and so were out of the wind.

Good to see The Gnome there again.

Yes, very enjoyable and a good crowd.
Interesting to see Mike Atherton's son, only 15 and playing for Middlesex.
Only downside was the burger man.
I know someone who had a burger that was raw and uncooked in the middle.Ugh.
I ordered a hot dog, paid and was told it would be 5 minutes.
I was not called so after 10 minutes went over and asked if it was ready.
He looked at me blankly, didn't remember I had ordered and paid for one, and it was all a bit embarrassing.
Just issue a ticket on ordering and it would be more efficient.

Had no problem with burger man, although his runner (age 10 or thereabouts) got it wrong sometimes!

Atherton's son doesn't play as Atherton. Uses his mother's name to avoid comparisons etc.

Great week at Coggeshall, although could be a bit chilly, as posted above. However Sunday’s game, vs Lashings was excellent entertainment and Coggeshall didn’t by any means disgrace themselves on the field. 202-159 (or thereabouts) in a 20 over game.

Henry Blofeld’s commentary was a delight!

Only hope next year’s Week is as good. Nearest we get to Festival cricket nowadays!

As a extreme 'dinosaur' who lives in the past, I could have well done without the music (especially the disco after tea) from the marque on Ladies Day (Thurs) - especially as the strong wind made it impossible to sit on the opposite side of the ground

Sorry I cannot enjoy cricket with music playing so in future, I shall limit my Coggeshall visits to the quiet days at the beginning of the week

I have never been and unlikely to ever go, to the one day game on Corporate day

I enjoyed the two T20 games on Friday and went to the Lashings game on Sunday.
The ex pros do a good job with the kids, mix well with the spectators, and when their 65 game unbeaten run looked threatened, they went up a gear, and finally won comfortably.
Coggeshall did well at the start with Devon Malcolm being hit for two big 6's and a 4, but John Emburey soon put the break on and even in his mid 60's still bowls well.
Henry Blofeld did the first half commentary, and  made a few bob selling his books and wine, and a good sum was raised for charity.
Well done to the Coggeshall Cricket Club, and for those who don't like noise, earplugs could be the answer, or perhaps visit Halstead  when the seconds play Sussex, in the middle of August.
It's less noisy there, and well worth a trip.

Don’t EVER go to watch in India or Sri Lanka. Don’t know about Pakistan, but suspect it’s similar. Coggeshall was quiet by comparison.

I sat in the "popular" stand in Chennai in December.  Never heard a noise quite like it.  5000 Indian grown men squealing like 9 year old girls every time Ashwin or Kohli scratched their backside.
