Not the force they once were but a decent draw nonetheless, last time we played them the rain washed out Day 3 when we would have beaten them comfortably as it was Chanderpaul v our bowlers.

that's not a great idea is it?  I love Castle Park, but I wouldn't put a tourist match there now.  6000 at Chelmsford, with proper seating (other than the HCE) 2,000 at CP....same level seating , lack of facilities....

come on..

I haven't checked but I thought they tried to give tourists warm up games against div 2 sides. If that was the case is this some attempt at a sweetener for us?

They generally get given to the teams that don't play on test match grounds I think.  Somerset played Pakistan this year for sure, so not just Div 2 sides.

i think it's an excellent idea.  can get 5-6000 in to CP and would help sustain the festival.

Disagree, always liked outground cricket in principle but the most important thing is having a good view of the game, which for thousands would be poor at Colchester. Passable for a Sunday league game but not for a three day game with a big crowd. T20 reverts go the old scheduling next year so tag one on for 2017. Worked well with the Kent game the other year.

Unless Gayle is playing the Windies don't draw flies.

Colchester could adequately accommodate them.

Hell send them to Barren Park that'll soften them up for England.

Scheduled for Chelmsford according to BBC site - knowing the BBC's legendary accuracy it may well be anywhere else!!

expect the blue bibbed heavies on bag search duty will out number the crowd as they do for all tour games bar Aus and Ind.

Might this be a day/night match as preparation for the Edgbaston test? The report in this morning's Times says that WI will play warm up games under lights. I'd prefer a traditional game but who listens to us old f***s nowadays?
