clanging barrels.

Obviously Monday is the day they collect the empty beer barrels but did they have to load them up at Hayes Close while we were watching cricket. Having sat through the rain we were rewarded with a constant din of banging and clanging all afternoon. I guess the club would prefer us not to be there getting in the way of the smooth operation of a t20 and city centre hospitality venue.

One thing ECCC are good at is selling beer which probably explains Bowden's plan to stage Premier League Darts in the massive new pavilion to be built under the latest ground redevelopment fantasy.

Reports reach me that Mr. Topley was recently seen buying a round at the ECG. Can anyone confirm or deny this please?

Don't know, but if it is true, I bet his BBC Essex co commentators were glad of a respite from being talked over and interrupted.
