I just wish a few other Officials shared Danny's dedication & commitment to duty, he at least has the balls to front up & respond to points raised & criticism some of which is probably unwarranted & not of his doing. As he says he only has a small team, remember we are not like Sorry who seem to be made of money & with larger staff numbers than us. Give the man (and his team) credit for how much they do for us.
Fair points, although I would suggest that ECCC are such a poorly run Club, who habitually waste money that they supposedly don't have, on the likes of Panesar, Willoughby, et al, and a laughable 'redevelopment' that continues to invite ridicule, for just two examples. It has actually reached the stage where they should consider being honest, admitting they have made some rather fundamental mistakes, then look to engage with the membership and invite input to see how they can try to regain some of their acres of lost ground. Here's a tip; people generally warm to honesty!
Unfortunately, the continual denial that anything is wrong, and that ECCC are the victims of a big black cloud that follows them around, delivering nothing but bad luck is frankly embarrassing and will merely continue to lose the Club credibility. Clearly Danny and his team work to hierarchical, top-down orders and have to make the best of things, with the straight-jacket rigidity synonymous with contemporary Essex CCC.
