Congratulations to Essex Players

Congratulations to the following Essex players who have been called into the England Performance Programme Squad

Ben Foakes,  Tymal Mills, Reece Topley.

Well done to all 3, Tymal is perhaps a little fortunate but good to see England have kept him in mind, nice to see we continue to produce good England prospects - hope they go all the way despite the fact we won't see them more than twice a season in years to come!!

Although he is only on loan I think Monty is very lucky to be called up for England again, if he is the 2nd best spinner in England it says much for the others!! Whilst with Essex he hasn't exactly excelled, his longer spells have at least 1 four ball per over apart from the occasional maidens & anyone who saw him bowl last Friday wouldn't believe he was an England player judging by the way he sprayed it around. His fielding is laughable with little attempt to ever dive to stop the ball & his concentration leaves much to be desired.
I expected more from a player who wants/needs to get back into the England team but his attitude left something to be desired.

Can't we just for once, ignore a player's off field antics and concentrate on his cricketing ability.
