Gloucestershire H - Uh .
« on: July 18, 2024, 09:51:43 AM »
Well, no different, just want the home side to win.

Awful T20 record, but sometimes, just sometimes they turn up and win a game ?. and could just do our dirty work.
Could be of novelty  value, if you are local .

Middlesex take on Gloucestershire at The Cloud County Ground on Thursday evening in the final Blast group game staged at Chelmsford this season. The match is set to get underway at 6:15pm with tickets still available to purchase online directly from Essex Cricket.

Are they going to announce the crowd as well as the teams?!

At least there is a reason to go and support a team. Hopefully Max Holden has another night out.

Alas it was not to be. No one could stay with Leus du Plooy after the opening stand.

Dammit. They looked on to win that after putting on 102 for the first wicket.

Do Essex just need to beat Hampshire or is there a run rate consideration?

We need to beat Hants or tie or rained off. Gloucs did well to keep du Plooy off strike too.

Hosts quite clever producing a wicket that did a little, therefore giving the home side a better chance. However they were not able to grasp the opportunity.

Congrats to Gloucestershire, WG will be happy, a first T20 title for them. Lost to them home and away, no hang on, away and defeated Middlesex at County Ground to deny the Eagles progress.
Well competition not won by a franchise based County, well credit to them.

Yes - well done to the underdogs making Sussex and Somerest look poor.

Great to see a 'little club' do well :)

Yes, although their overseas is taking the credit, it is good that neither Slurrey nor The Slurrey of the South West won in the end.

I went to Finals Day - and was pleased to see Gloucestershire win. Surrey lost it by being too cocky in the first game, and Sussex did not seem to read the wicket well and only had one game.

It was interesting to see that Somerset threw it away as, again, they only had one mode - which was attack!

The wicket was not a great one - the ball seemed to stick to the ground after the first 10 overs or so.

One observation - watching all the teams - they seemed be playing T20 in a different way to us - they all seemed to have their approaches but were always positive. If we want to win the T20 in another year we need a new plan
