Remember that this fast talking Tyke wasn't even 'in power' at the time when he made these comments. I am not surprised that his 'straight talking' caused problems - I am actually surprised that Strauss has gone as far as he did.

Personally, in the old days (i.e. Gooch vs Gower) a player wasn't picked and nothing more was said. This hysteria whipped up is just annoying. The value of the silent soundbite has been ignored all around.

KP is off back to the IPL ...

That was always the plan should the Sunrisers get close to the knockout stage.

Nobody emerges from this farce with any credit,Colin Graves should have either kept quiet or actually thought about what he said, Strauss , who I generally have had a lot of time for, has not started in the best way & has been handed a real hot potato to resolve, I believe he is right to say 'No way back' to The Ego but it has all blown up in his face.
As for The Ego ,yes he got runs as he was told to but most of them have come in this 1 innings against arguably our weakest County (not meant as a slight to Leics but statistically they have been over the last 2/3 years), it has to be said yet again that he is trouble in any dressing room as he has always been & I believe his team mates suffer accordingly as the atmosphere etc becomes fractious.
So much for his commitment to England/Sorry that he is shortly off to India for the IPL, followed by the Caribbean, shame we won't watch him on Saturday!!
It would be difficult to see who would make way for him anyway as he always had to bat at No 4 irrespective of anyone else.
Just to stir it up - Good riddance (regular readers/posters know my opinion of him anyway!!)
