Much, much better, total improvement, (found some cobwebs and a Revel ).
Rain denies first win, a performance which we expect. Inconsistently from the umpires, rightly took Mills off then let a load of unplayable deliveries later. Excellent innings by Cox, got tad greedy wanting the strike.

Hit boundaries rather than fielders, and were in a competitive position when we went off. The total would have been much larger if the umpires had called other bouncers which were unplayable and several deliveries were unreachable when bats had not moved from position and outside the blue line at the top end of the innings.
Results only improve with confidence builders, continue negativity only makes it harder to turn it around.
Teams that step over the line thinking they are about to lose invariably do.

I thought Elgar and Walter did well, apart from Cox who is a cut above in this format. I think the team will get some confidence from this performance. Middlesex coming up on Thursday and Kent at home on Friday before the proper cricket returns. Qualification isn't going to happen, but a couple of wins before Hampshire in the Championship would certainly help team morale (not to mention supporter morale).

Harder season than most, yes not what we are use too, form in this competition has always been patchy since winning the competition, and then just qualified by the skin of our teeth, but always expected to be front runners in red ball, sometimes the only chasers to the eventual winners.
Not been in this position in both competitions for a long time, and consolidation period to bed some younger guys to gain that ever invaluable experience. Not got the dept we once possessed especially after two bowlers departure from last season and bats need more form .
Not in it to win it now any competition , but the players know their responsibilities and it hurts when cannot deliver .

Well it was Friday 13th ?.11 more deliveries to confirm a result, denied.
Was surprised considering the delay in the  start that they only took 3 overs off each innings.

In reality we were nominal challengers for the title.

Arsenal with far less money.
