Reading the other thread on this subject has reminded me that there is a little bit more to add.
By the way, my thread is better than your thread. Ner Ner de Ner Ner.
Fixture seeding.
This may be determined by results over the previous three seasons. With the way that this season is going and the previous two, Essex could be the number one seed.
There was a Q & A during the lunch interval.
I will try a summarise what was said.
Scoreboard
An old favourite. Not being helped by the main scoreboard being blank during the morning session. A member speaking on behalf of the Premier and Corporate members, who have no view of the small scoreboard. Commented that paying the highest rates of membership gives the lowest level of service in these circumstances. A complaint about the scoreboard layout was raised again and to put a stop to the moaning a show of hands was asked for. This was 60% in favour of the new layout, 10% against with 30% abstained.
100
This will clash with the One day cup and possibly the Championship. The no overseas player rule may be dropped.
Festival cricket
It was stated that to make this pay a Championship and One day game has to be held as a complete festival week. As the fixtures preclude this nothing will be happening.
Player Contracts and Movements
The approach for Tom Westley was part of a County making a 28 day approach if they feel there is a player that will be needed to meet their requirements. Most of the squad have signed new contracts. Ravi Bopara has not and has been given a deadline to put pen to paper.
Ground Redevelopment
The plans are,
New floodlights so that Women's International matches can be hosted.
The pavillion is to be stripped down to a shell and re built.
The drainage of the outfield is to be replaced.
All this will take the next two years.
I hope that I have covered everything.
