The process is now underway, with nominations to be submitted by 31st January. Voting papers will be then sent out to all members, who can re-elect current committee members, or vote for new faces. I should add that I have put myself forward in the process and would appreciate the votes and support of everyone on this forum.

Members as of when get a vote?
I was a member last season but have not renewed yet so am I entitled to vote?
-
I was a member last season but have not renewed yet
Still mourning Larry? ;D

Didn't think you'd know the answer.
-
Membership expires end December and renewal is due 1st January, so would assume anyone who hasn't yet renewed is no longer a member so won't get a vote.
-
Good point affinetickletoleg , likewise have not renewed yet, have voted previously so presume only first renewals, direct debits and life members only at presently entitled .
-
Renewed a couple of weeks ago, or at least the direct debit was taken, but havemn't got a voting paper yet. Presumably they'll be sent out after 31st Jan.
-
I think we usually getting voting papers with the Spring members mailing.
The main thing is to only vote for those you want - don't necessarily use all your votes.
-
So it looks like that those of us who do not renew until closer to the start of the season miss out on the chance to vote. Is this a clever move by the club?
How many votes are 'lost' to people who hold on to their money until close to the start of the season?
-
I assume voting papers won't go out until all the nominations are in. Deadline for that is Sunday.
-
Daren, whatever the criteria you will have my vote.
-
Would have had my vote as well..........but like I say I think that it is a cute move to reduce the number of people allowed a vote.

I suspect it could be a way of the club trying to encourage people to pay by direct debit.
-
Thank you for all the support. You can now renew your membership online; I did it for my son and my father and it was all fairly painless.

Not to the membership question.
I knew the answer to the question I asked though. ;D

Anyone ..... Daren ...... know when voting papers will be issued? Or indeed, if there’ll be enough candidates to have an election?
-
no news my end....
-
The ballot paper arrived in my post today. Get voting everybody!!
-
Not here yet.
How many candidates are there? (That's not saying I'll use all my votes).
-
I didn't get mine either ...

there are eight candidates standing, including myself.

Renewed membership last month, no literature has yet, when is the last date for voting ?

nyone know anything about them? Apart from Daren, obviously.

All votes must be returned by first post on Tuesday 5th April. David Acfield, John Faragher, Wasim Haq, Andrew Kennedy, Mike Smith and David Wilson are all existing General Committee members seeking re-election. The new faces are Brian Springall and myself. The eight candidates are jousting for five places on the General Committee. Members can vote for upto five candidates. Change has happened everywhere else at the club and it is now in members' hands for them to start changing the General Committee, if that is their desire. Remember, you don't have to vote for five candidates and should only vote for those who you would really like to see help steer the club.
-
Only vote for people you want - that's the best way to help them get elected.
-
My position concerning the vote is I have not yet renewed my membership. I am still in two minds whether to do so. If I do not I will probably have forgotten about Essex CCC and all the personality's within six months. In the last few seasons, particularly with away and friendly games the fact there was one has a few times completely slipped my mind.
One disappointment is, unless the voting goes exactly the right way. Some of the old guard will get back in.

Sorry, are you saying we can not express our opinions on the quality of the candidates.
I know of Brian Springall from the River Stand, of Daren from this Forum and Acfield of course "has form". Of the rest I know bugger all.
If members have opinions and or experience of any of them surely this should be encouraged.
What about inviting all of them to participate in a discusion on this forum

quincy - there were comments about someone who isn't a candidate so the comments were inappropriate ...

Although inappropriate doesn't necessarily mean untrue... ;)

Have all the members on here cast their votes?
-
Not received any voting forms.
-
You got my vote Daren
-
Voting papers returned, I voted for you Darren, good luck.
-
That's two then.
-
I voted for Darren as well plus Bill Springall but none of the existing Committee.
-
thank you everyone!

Same for me. Interesting that for the first time (that I can remember) the latest bumph from the club has pictures of all of the current committee members. Shame the pictures are far too small to fit on my dartboard and be visible from the oche.
-
With the AGM imminent I'm unfortunately unable to go, so this is a request for somebody, or several people, to give the committee a grilling about the development and try to find out exactly what is happening, and if possible to post a note on here of what was said? Thanks
-
Get those votes in the post or hand deliver ...
-
I have not voted as I have not yet renewed my membership.
The jury is still out on this.

We had a vote in the river stand today and the verdict was ...
"PLEASE DONT"
-
Well Quincy I have renewed. After all it is only money.
As I do not bother with friendlies. Please fill me in with the absences from last season. Last season I think we lost at least two.

We'll call the register on Sunday and I'll let you know.
