Surprised an incremental contract is just appearance money.

& pleased they get paid diddly for T20.

Post by: vim on December 18, 2015, 11:46:13 AM: In the days before Central Contracts I saw figures for test match fees. This was from the Gooch, Lamb and Gower era. The figures for a ordinary member of the team was £1500 with an extra £100 for seniority of each 10 previous test appearances.

The players County would receive the equivalent of the fee as compensation for their club not having their services.

From Armchair Cricket published by the BBC for the first World Cup in 1975. Test match fees.

Match Fee £180
12th Man (Whole Match) £95
12th Man (Days 1-3) £60
12th Man (Days 4-5) £36
Umpires £150
Scorers £25
Emergency Fielders £7 per day

Test cricket involves a lot of time away from home.

& it's peanuts compared to Premier League footballers who average 50 grand a week.

Which is why Kerry Packer found it easy to recruit players for his 'circus' in 1977.
