Another batting failure for Buttler in the Ashes series, is it time to label has a OD international only ?
Note - Foakes just made his highest first class score, wonder if ECB have been ringing Slurry up to get him behind the stumps ?

Foakes seems to be Gloucestershires version of Darren Stevens. He has 4 CC 100s, 3 against Gloucestershire.

England seemed determined to play Buttler in Tests despite the fact that he clearly wasn't/isn't good enough for Tests, 1 dayers yes but not Tests. His W/K skills aren't that great & he has been showed up for what he is, an average W/K capable of sometimes explosive batting.

Who else is there to choose though. Bairstow is in the same bracket as Buttler and no other keeper stands out.

I've jus' heard on my 'Cat's Whisker' transmitter that there's a promising young keeper coming through at Kent who goes by the name of Godfrey Evans. It certainly makes a change from those boring Nevil Chamberlain broadcasts informing us 'We are now at war with Germany.'

You'll find that those new fangled televisual radios are all the rage now, Grandad.
