Has a date been announced when the 2014 fixtures are to be released?
-
Usually mid to late November.
-
Fixtures announced in November.
Essex concede defeat shortly thereafter. >:(
-
According to yesterday's Daily Telegraph, a provisional fixture schedule was agreed by counties at a meeting at Lord's last week and shows the first round of Championship matches starting on April 6th (four days earlier than this season) and ending on Sept 26th ( a day earlier than this year)

Sounds like one of Carole King's songs, "It Might As Well Rain Until September''

Always my big gripe .
Remember when provisional fixtures were out before the end of August, no promotion and relegation then, but three day cricket, two one day competitions and a Sunday swipe to organise . The longer the publishing date the closer to the next season and less likely people have to organize .
Progress .

B****y H**l some people will always find something to moan about. How many people *need* to know the fixture list 7 months in advance!

Those who need to put in for their holiday breaks very early in advance so they get to attend their fair whack of games.

My employees ,Nat .

I've stopped taking leave to watch Essex.
They're currently not worth the sacrifice.
Especially when the season starts in March (near as dammit).

I have seen the crowd in the River Stand, the day the football fixtures were announced. Absolutely desperate to find out the information. They could not wait until they got home.

Some people need to know when things are happening due to booking holidays etc... I used to like to know in advance to arrange my overseas work periods not to clash too much.
-
I thought ECCC announced on the web site a while ago fixtures will be released in late December/new year?!
-
To be fair, in my working days....... which are admittedly getting to be a while ago now ....... the departmental holiday list started being circulated in early October for the year starting the following 1st April.
So anything in school holidays was booked by about November! About 50 in the department, many of whom had school age children or partners who were teachers!
-
Yes - it can be a problem when you work and follow cricket .I'm reasonably lucky with getting the odd day off for most 4 day games but the school holidays when I like to go with my school age son are more problematic. I would have thought the "slots" in which games would be played could be announced fairly early but I guess it's to do with the TV sorting out what they want to show. Mind you, this year there was practically nothing at home during the 6 week summer holiday.
-
I like to organise a holiday near at least one away fixture and am trying to 'collect' all the grounds used for County Cricket. Of course they are always adding new ones and I can only take holiday in school holidays.
-
Stated at forum that fixtures should be out on 26 November.
-
Yorkshire cc have announced 26th. November 9:30am for 2014 fixture release.
-
Evening, yes that is correct, news will come via website, social media, email, press etc!
Something for everyone, thanks, Danny
