Could someone tell me which two teams will be playing in this years final at the county ground on Thursday, info hard to come by on website.

Matchplay final carries Trevor Baileys name, is organised by the club yet we have no publicity and at the conclusion no high profile representative to present the trophy. Usual low key shambles from Essex.

Shame. I played in this many years ago. No money, no publicity - unless they let girls play and we'd hear lots.

Second XI fixtures don't get a plug on the tannoy either. I would have thought encouraging people along to Halstead, Coggeshall or wherever would be a good idea, especially given the lack of cricket in high summer. Still with Autumn creeping in it and the kids back at school next week we must be about to start playing championship cricket again
