Same team? Any chance Napier could be back as he was warming up last game?

No. Never change a winning team.
-
Never change a winning team.
Or a losing coach.
-
No. Never change a winning team.
Agree with that, although if Napier was fully fit wouldnt be surprised if he came in the side
-
Hampshire gone top after winning last night
-
All we can do is keep winning, if we do then Jul 22nd @ Chelmsford v Hants may be a Group decider.
-
Middlesex coming good against Gloucs.
-
Napier set to return tomorrow
-
Middlesex coming good against Gloucs.
Sadly, rained off. Middlesex’s young hopeful, Podmore looks either good or lucky!

It was a terrible pitch last night. Seam, spin, two paced, uneven bounce. Just the type of pitch you shouldnt use for a twenty20 match.

I don't know.
An element of risk would add to my enjoyment.
Most T20 games are deadly dull affairs.
Almost as predictable as the 50 over stuff.

It won't be long before 11 balls per side with underarm bowling at a defenceless set of stumps will become the next Murdoch gimmick. The result being decided by which cheerleader can kick her legs the highest and in the event of a tie, which pop artist has most recently appeared before a Crown Court.

Sounds interesting. Presumably they'll be recruiting the guy from East 17 who ran over himself for the latter role. Now, any suggestions for the cheerleader role?

Diatribe, I envy your creative imagination!

You keep mentioning the cheerleaders. We don't have them at Chelmsford
-
Good result, player of the match: Duckworth-Lewis.
-
Good win for the Essex boys tonight.
-
Another great win for the boys. Well done the Eagles!
-
Our 4 day form is cr*p but our T20 form is great - perhaps 2 more wins & we will have qualified for 1/4 finals, now let's kill off Sorry next Friday!!
Well done boys, COYE!!!
-

Why? We were well on course without Duckworth Lewis.

Ah, that must be because ECCC take T20 seriously.

I suspect that the lack of cheerleaders is yet another reason why Mr Diatribe doesn't attend matches at Chelmsford.

Actually Fire, its the lack of my favourite air, Frédéric Chopin's Marche Funèbre accompanying the batsmen to the crease. ;)

But it certainly helped. Not taking away from Swampy, of course.

Its always perplexed me why such a talented limited overs player couldn't manage to adapt his technique, develop some concentration powers and excel at the longer form of the game.

I can telly you why. The vast majority of his runs come square of the wicket and through the slips area. In the bish-bash stuff there are no slips ...

I fully appreciate this, Nat, hence my observation regarding adapting his technique and developing a modicum of concentration prowess.

Must be a fault with the coaching!!

Could, I suspect, be arranged!
-
As much as I prefer Championship cricket this week will show exactly the way our club is heading - tomorrow (most do not have work) - probably 25 percent attendance - T20 sold out !
-
Must be a fault with the coaching!!
Now you're getting it.
-
Re the likely attendance on Sunday - despite being in LVCC2 (permanently?) we are blessed with a decent level of support - better than many other Counties & probably a lot more than we deserve, some of the bigger Counties including Test ground ones would probably be envious of our support.
I have often said Essex don't deserve our support & we don't deserve them!

And I suspect Diatribe's cheerleaders could be trained to do an appropriate dance to accompany it.

Indeed and might I have the temerity to suggest that they be referred to as 'undertakers' for the benefit of this exercise.
