No Beard in the 12 today, so I think that would mean he wouldn't play again. Browne and Khushi both in the team whereas Das and Thain aren't. May well mean that they are planning to give Das a go as an opener on Thursday. Of course it's possible that the likes of Allison and Browne could play 2 days of the second team match and then be pulled out to be in the squad for Thursday but it would be odd for Browne to play in this when no other likely starters on Thursday are.

Yep a clear indication of the runners and riders for the forthcoming CC game(s). Interesting personally that HL Seagrave is playing for Essex. Attached to Middx for a while, bowls SLA.

Gloucs also have Jack Benkenstein playing for them. I wonder if he's any relation to Luc ?

It's his brother. He's only 16.

Browne is not skipper. That suggests either he?s not staying the full 4 days or that he?s very much out of favour. Elgar and Das to open on Wednesday I guess.

Well, if they do open (the batting) on Wednesday they'll have plenty of time to play themselves in. The Hampshire bowlers are turning up on Thursday!

Thanks. It may be my imagination but there do seem to be a lot of sets of brothers coming through. I assume that the Reuben Thain who turned out for Essex seconds recently is Noah's younger brother.

Looks nothing like Noah but he is his brother.

That Dent youngster is doing well, sign him up! ;)
-
He has mental health issues unfortunately that have prevented him being available much for Gloucester.
A player who looked like he could go on to better things but div2 is probably his ceiling.

If Essex (and indeed all of us) are still around in ten years time, then we should have the pleasure of watching the Ten Doeschate twins wreak havoc.

Poor ol' Nick Browne. Can't buy a run.

Deja vu.

Both Reuben Thain and Jack Benkenstein are now both in the Essex Academy for next year. If Ben Allison hadn't have left it's possible we could have had two Thains, two Allisons and two Benkensteins sometime in the near future in the Essex team.
