Title: In the year 2028.
Post by: bwildered on October 11, 2023, 10:28:26 AM
In the year 2028, will English cricket survive. Pass the popcorn please.

The ECB will hold talks over the international schedule in 2028 to decide whether to leave a gap in the English summer schedule to accommodate the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The Olympics only last for a couple of weeks.  I'm not sure it will have that much impact.  The next T20 World Cup covers the whole of June next year in the USA.  That will have a much bigger impact as apart from 4 T20s at home to Pakistan the international season in England doesn't start until July 10th.

It'll be July 2028. By then we'll probably be concerned that Charlie Allison, Luc Benkenstein and Noah Thain will miss vital Championship matches. I'd settle for that.
