Daniel Sams has won the 2023 Vitality Blast Player of the Year after finishing the competition as the number one player, statistically.
The Essex all-rounder scored a hugely impressive 419 runs and took 25 wickets during the Vitality Blast 2023 as his side finished as runners-up.
Congratulations to him, most deserved. Really did come good in the later stages.

Also hit 30 sixes, and held 13 catches. A good all round performance.

The normal suspects on here wanted him binned before he had bowled a ball.
As I stated before, I hope that JS has got him tied up for next season as well, he was genuinely upset at the end and to me it shows that he cares for the County and his team mates, I don't think you would have seen Narine in tears if he had bothered to return for Surrey.

Great all round performance and so much better than last year. He's vital for the balance of the side and when his batting comes off it's a joy to watch.
I hope he is signed up for next year.

The T20 World Cup next year is going to be played during June next year so next years Blast will be missing a lot of players including Sams maybe?

He's officially re-signed for the first 8 games of the Blast (which by reckoning takes him to early July). If he was in the Aussie T20 World Cup squad that would take up most of that. I think there's enough players ahead of him though.

Now available for the whole of the Tournament.

Good.

The stars continue to align for my 'top target' Jason Holder to join in all formats. Especially now Kamindu Mendis has bagged an IPL contract.

No loss on last season form. Season before another matter!
