Lawrence back at the expense of Rymell. I think they will pick him, but it'll be interesting to see what reception he gets if he plays in the home game against Somerset on Monday.
Squad:
Harmer, Allison, Beard, Buttleman, Cook, Critchley, Das, Khushi, Lawrence, Nijjar, Pepper, Sams, Snater, Walter, Westley
The weather looks very dodgy for tomorrow, although Lord's does dry quickly so they may get a game in.

It would be so Essex to lose this. But it looks like the rain won’t give us the chance. Flash flooding forecast apparently.
At this point I don’t think the top four in either group will change, so it’s about trying to get a home draw because I can’t see us beating any of that Northern top four away. Somerset on Monday is a must win.

Middlesex won the toss and put Essex in. Usually a disadvantage if there's rain around. Lawrence back:
Khushi, Lawrence, Pepper, Das, Walter, Critchley, Sams, Buttleman, Harmer, Snater, Cook

A good win for Essex (by 22 runs on D/L). Fantastic batting from Pepper, Sams, Walter and L*wrence. Sams is really coming into his own this season and Pepper is great to watch when he gets going. Some tidy bowling (in this context) to keep Middlesex well behind the D/L rate. Unlike recent seasons, this is a really entertaining team to watch.
A top 2 finish is going to be difficult, but this is a relatively settled, confident side, so it's certainly possible.
Middlesex having an awful season.

A wins a win .
Another good team performance for the Eagles, good shuffle of bowlers by Harmer to win on D/L with DL still available to us.

Arsenal had the Invincibles Middx are on course for the Unwinnables.

They've got a lot of off-field problems. They might cease to exist.

I was rather surprised that it was only 22 runs according to DLS. We were winning that game by a distance.

Agree Slogger, that’s why stated Harmer shuffled bowlers around well to create a bigger gap possible on D/L because if returned could have chased lower target , which would have been easier with smaller boundaries, with same amount of wickets . So full credit to Captain.
First look at Master Atherton, wonder where he was down to bat ?

The MCC should buy them out.
Unless they think the 16.4 is going to take off against all the odds.
-
Master Atherton was listed as Number 8 in the batting line up.
-
If Middlesex lose every game, will this be a record for the Blast? The weather will no doubt have a say and Essex could get an advantage of another side dropping a guaranteed point.

Cricket. Bloody hell.

That Middlesex win against Surrey was their first win in 15 T20s and the second highest run chase in T20s in history. Astonishing.
Will Jacks hit 96 in 45 balls and finished on the losing side. No doubt they'll take it out on Essex next Sunday.
