meh

So now we've got a cartoon for both club crests.
-
How that is an improvement on the old crest I’ll never know

I'm informed that the new 'logo' was done for the club at no charge. So they still overpaid.
-
As a member for over fifty years, I like it: it is plain-speaking and gets to the point, like Essex Man ...
-
Has the club awaits bills for Newton Report and updating facilities, paying for a rebrand of the club crest seems low in the priority list, unless they foresee a decent profit in sales.
Let’s hope a discount could be applied to those who have only just purchased new shirts .
-
The logo was done on a pro bono basis - so there was no cost
-
Strange within my newly arrived members pack, no rebrand in there. A bad case of timing .
Also introduction with those elected to the newly formed members committee, ( page 24 & 25 ) that should assist the Board and Chief Executive to develop communication channels between club and its members, alas no information on how to contact these at present unknown persons .

It's a lot better than I feared.
But the write up says its inspired by an eagle in flight. I'll have to stare at it for a few more minutes.
-
Agreed gd. The Eagle in flight scenario seems to have got lost in transit . I compared the red and white ball crests .
Still like Sloggers excellent idea if only for next season, with the traditional seaxes and club name, what better way to incorporate the clubs identity over the years which brings back memories of all players who have played throughout .
-
I’m surprised that the idea of having three weapons on the crest hasn’t triggered some in this age of offense.
-
Despite my issues with the editorial policy here I still lurk but simply have to clarify this point.
The Eagle is the yellow bit at the bad of the crest. In flight it's wings i silhouette. Looks like anything a seagull etc so saying eagle in flight is pushing it...Still the whole tenuous Eagle link to the club is a bit daft anyway, the county's roman links aside. Also etching on the seaxes would have made more sense but the alliterative needs of the one day team kyboshed that.
