Was apparently in talks to joins Birmingham this season (but not happening now as they/counties are having trouble convincing os players to come over). Anyone know who our T20 OS are - Delport/Siddle/Zampa/none of the previous??

Harmer now counts as one of the two so it will be him and one other. Delport is contracted and now only counts as an overseas player as well so unless his contract becomes voided because of that, the other will likely be him.

What an underwhelming duo of overseas players if true. Helps to fuel the narrative that the quality of the Blast is terrible.
Mark my words it won't be due to the lockdown/pandemic counties are struggling to sign overseas players, it'll be money. All of them didn't waste anytime putting their name in the Hundred draft with the potential of a 70k-100k paycheck for a few weeks work. Compare that to 20k for over a month's work and it's a no brainer unfortunately.

I think in a lot of these tournaments outside the IPL the overseas players are often pretty underwhelming. I watched quite a bit of the Big Bash with guys like Salt, Briggs, Gregory, Ball, Jacks etc.

Agree, the Big Bash isn't the tournament it once was. It's a very poor standard now with all the Australian players playing International cricket at the same time. When James Vince is starring in the competition, you know it ain't all that.
I think the Blast has normally done a good job of attracting players in the past considering it probably doesn't pay well and is a long tournament. In 2019, ABD, Rashid Khan, Maxwell, Pooran, Babar, Amir all played the Blast and those are just off the top of my head. Unfortunately all the counties are going to be far worse off financially than they were back then, in addition to the Hundred providing a far less taxing option of work for far more money. Ultimately the Blast will suffer badly as a result.

At the member's forum we were told the overseas was Harmer plus one other - and an announcement will be made shortly

Guess it will offer batting and bowling options. Seems like we are trying to cover all bases. Not sure I am a fan of this approach, I think you need an either/or. A batter that will get runs or a bowler that will get wickets. Trying to find a jack of all trade never really works for me.

Given the paucity of overseas talent because of more lucrative tournaments it might be difficult to find a quality specialist. Also if the quality of the county game is lower than normal a modest all rounder might be a better option.
