Good afternoon,
We would like to invite you to voice your feedback, opinions, suggestions and comments at our next Focus Group.
Details can get found below or via news page of the website.
We value your feedback as this helps to shape future plans. Even free tea, coffee and cake on offer. This will focus on all off pitch matters.

Thanks, Danny

The club has had plenty of feed back over many years, but it is still only fixed on grabbing members and doing nothing for them. This forum will only be another bout of "we are listening" but with no instant results.
So Sussex, Middlesex , Surrey and Kent all offer a decent membership for one day matches, whereas Essex can't be bothered to keep members happy.
-
Another mid-week meeting which means all us workers are excluded ... ::)

If you trot out the same tired old plea, of course no one listens. The one day membership was debated on this forum and it's predecessor with nobody else in favour.

How about the things people are in favour of?
Like sacking Grayson, Foster & Shepherd Neame.

I don't know anyone sensible in favour of sacking Foster, although I do support the decision for him not to be one-day and especially 20/20 captain.
-
I don't know anyone sensible in favour of sacking Foster
In the poll conducted on here 70% want him removed from the captaincy.
Sensible or not that isn't much of a mandate I'd say.
& he is a terrible captain in all formats.
Points deductions for slow over rates in 4 day cricket is plain unforgivable.

Afternoon
We have had very little interest to date in this focus group. Please do attend if you can as we can gather feedback, suggestions and comments to improve your experience
This feedback IS vital and will allow us to update and answer any questions regarding the ground development
Thanks in advance

You reap what you sow.
-
We do encourage feedback and the focus group is a good way to do that
-
We do encourage feedback
The club never act on any of it though.
-
We are here to listen, this is your chance to voice opinion on all off the pitch matters.
I would welcome the chance to meet,
Thanks Danny

Listening is all that is done.

Go on VP, your bluff has been called.
-
Has it?
I've already been informed that Shep Neame is a valued partner.
Crap beer is here for the foreseeable future.
Just like our crap coach.
-
Has it?
Yes. Accept the meeting and discuss all of your complaints face to face.
Take your keyboard with you if you want to carry on hiding behind it.
-
Accept the meeting and discuss all of your complaints face to face.
Receiving a no on the internet takes seconds.
Receiving a no in person will take up 4 or 5 hours of my life.
As things currently stand I can't even be bothered to devote that amount of time to watching the team.
Let alone discussing crappy beer.
-
Well they listened but done nothing, sorry VP but that is the way.
-
If you can't be bothered watching the team, what are you doing here?
-
I may be boycotting Essex currently but I live in hope that one day the team will repay my life membership investment.
-
Sorry, VP, didn't realise you were a lifer.
Hope you feel able to come and watch soon.
-
Hope you feel able to come and watch soon.
Me too.
When I bought life membership I thought it would be a good way to spend my declining years.
Unfortunately I didn't envisage Essex's decline outstripping my own.
-
Any chance of giving up life membership and getting a refund. or will Grayson still be keeping it for his high standard of living.
-
Lot to be said, VP (and cashless) for sitting at the top of the Tom Pearce with the rest of the cast of the Last of the Summer Wine grumbling.
Nice sunny day, little afternoon nap after a trip to the Orange Tree …...
-
Lot to be said, VP (and cashless) for sitting at the top of the Tom Pearce with the rest of the cast of the Last of the Summer Wine grumbling.
If the club get their way you'll have to grumble elsewhere.

I'm in the second half of my 70's. Will I live long enough to have to find a new home!

Good point.
The snail like pace of the ground development will mean that members will most likely be parking up at Meteor Way in rocket cars before the Tom Pearce is pulled down.
Meanwhile Surrey plan to build a new atrium by 2015.
-
Please note this event has had to be cancelled owing to low uptake in numbers. We had hoped to gather feedback and discuss 2015 Membership options we are currently reviewing
As always we can be contacted via email (questions@essexcricket.org.uk) or at a game.
Feedback is vital and we look forward to hearing from you if there are anyways we can improve your experience.
Thanks, Danny

For a bloke that doesn't watch Essex, you spend a lot of time mourning about the beer, the redevelopment, the coach, the selections, the office staff, the committee, the players, the floodlights and uncle tolly cobold.
Why don't you get a life and watch some cricket even if its at Oval or Lords, then you can stop posting rubbish on here. You could even post something constructive about cricket you have actually seen.
-
Thanks for the comprehensive critique.
I can return the favour in one word.
Apologist.
-
I cannot see how pointing out the truth makes him an apologist.

I think you have had feedback ... of sorts. Silence can be deafening.

Don't worry you're still chief apologist.

Yawn.

Yawn.
It's funny you find that tiresome because club toadies like you & quincy have the same effect on me.
You make think you're supporting the club but really you're not.

You never answer a question. How does what he posted about you make him an apologist or club toadie? He never defended the club but just highlighted your persistent moaning.
-
just highlighted your persistent moaning.
If the club wasn't an omnishambles in just about every regard I wouldn't be moaning.
Whereas you defend the club no matter what.
Definition of a toady in my book.

1. I do not defend the club no matter what so you are wrong there.
2. I can think of quite a few definitions for you but would probably get banned if I posted them.
3. You STILL haven't answered why Qunicys original post qualifies him as a toady when he hasn't defended the club in any way but described you down to a tee.
-
More than one word surely ! ! ! !
-
I do not defend the club no matter what so you are wrong there.
Evidence please?
You've defended the club throwing a game so I don't know where you'd draw a line in the sand.

Go back through my posts, I'm not doing it for you.
And STILL no answer.

I don't have a fine tooth comb I'm afraid.
Even if I did I doubt I'd find anything constituting even mild rebuke.

And STILL no answer!!
What exactly am I supposed to answer?
Do I moan a lot? Yes.
Is there a lot to moan about. Yes.
By the same token.
Do you apologise for the club a lot. Yes.
Is it warranted. No.

Do I enjoy taking the opposite stance to you as you appear to have mental issues with certain people at the club? Yes.
Is it warranted? Yes.

Do I apologise for the club a lot? No.
You're always defending the club to the hilt.
You even defended throwing the Hants game despite the club being ridiculed nationwide for doing so.
You're the Comical Ali of this forum.

VP What is the purpose of any of your posts? You post on here 10 times a day and say nothing worthwhile. You throw out insults and when challenged you don't answer. Again what are you doing on this forum?
-
Quincy always seems to want to pick holes and tries to upset people. Don't let him upset you or rise to his silly remarks. Perhaps he will go away.
-
Not going anywhere.
I'd just like to see a bit of positivity now and again. We have just won a game and got a decent draw, and signed a top quality player at all forms. After a winter of moaning about the Hants games, pathetic attempts to get an EGM, no rank and file candidates for committee, we continue to get this sniping. Some posters can put up good, well thought out arguments on something and VP and others come back with "sack Larry" or "no change Essex". Blimey imagine if you were Surrey supporters.
If you really want change organise a meeting (Orange Tree??) , start a campaign, hand out leaflets, call for a boycott - do something. Just stop moaning
