I only had half an ear on it but someone asked about players leaving, Bowden said Patel has gone to Leicester and everyone else had signed up?  If I heard right that means Chopra and Snater are staying?

Also next year it looks like the conference system is happening with 14 matches and the team with the most points being County Champions.  There could also be a separate Lords Final between the top two teams for the Bob Willis Trophy. So I guess we could win two 4 day trophies next season.  Nothing confirmed yet.

Yes - I heard that too - (I asked the question!) - It was news about Patel - he was on loan but there has been nothing said at Leicester either! Wonder it was a slip!

Patel only played one game for Leicester and hardly excelled. They have just got Horton and Cosgrove off their wage bill so must have a few bob as they have given a three year contract to Steele from Durham.

I don't think Leicester have got money. A colleague of mine is based up there. He's a big rugby man with no interest in cricket but with lots of business contacts in the city and county. He told me the cricket club is really on a knife edge. A shame but there's not much interest in Leicester itself (which has a highly diverse population that the cricket club haven't engaged with) and they don't really get out into the county, which has an entirely different demographic.

Shall be sorry if we lose Meteor Way. Maybe OK next year but thereafter?

Essex need to build a car park if Meteor Way goes - I don/t know the area well enough to drive around looking for parking after a two hour plus drive ...

Wasn't a video of the forum being produced for members who didn't view the original live event

Yes - maybe it's been delayed because of the mention of contracts?

Didn't see any faux pas from DB. He obviously seemed a bit disinterested but that would be because he knew he was going.

Seems about right. And he knew Patel was going and said as much.

I wonder what the take up of memberships next year will be. The club will have to work hard. Some annual members will have seen a dramatic change in their circumstances and others may feel put out by the almost no refund policy.

A mate of mine has just semi retired. He hasn't been a member for 30 years but is considering joining as he'll have more time to come to games but will we be able to attend? More questions than answers.

It had not been formally announced that Rishi was leaving or that everyone else was being kept on.

yep the club made a big error by confiscating membership fees. I will be keeping my money in my pocket until it is clear that members can attend games.
