Notice that Essex have no players in the England squad for this tournament. Was there anyone unlucky not to get selected ?

Early exit for the young Lions, ninth-place finish in the overall tournament is their worst since the event was first staged in 1988.

Well, ECCC packed the England u-19 champions a couple of decades - look what happened to them.  This is pretty much an irrelevance - for those eligible for English county teams.  I guess the idea is to have an opportunity of bringing the next generation together and give them experience of touring overseas together but as we mostly recruit nowadays from non-England u-19 sides... ;)
