Lights blue touch paper and retires to a safe distance...
Middlesex have signed West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for six games of the upcoming T20 Blast competition.
Bravo will make his debut against Surrey on 5 July, with his final game coming against Hampshire on 26 July.
The 34-year-old has played 66 Twenty20 internationals, averaging 24.29 with the bat and taking 52 wickets at an average of 28.26.
"Dwayne is one of the most exciting and best T20 players in the world," said director of cricket Angus Fraser.

To be honest Essex got what they deserved by bringing in that ringer.
A low point in a decade of low points.

I never got the criticism. You are allowed 2 overseas players. Scott Styris played the Group matches and was needed by New Zealand so we replaced him with another overseas player. We were hardly getting an advantage by swapping one overseas allrounder for another.

If I remember correctly, it was considered not to have been value for money in his one and only performance on finals day in our defeat, scoring five and conceding almost fifty runs .

At a members forum it was stated that Dwayne Bravo's fee was performance related. If everything had gone well he would have got the full amount. Instead of that he nearly ended up owing Essex CCC money.

Somehow I don't believe this...unless he was being performance rewarded by the opposition.

The 5 was ended by a run out when he was jogging through. If he hadn't have been running so casually he would not have been run out.

Essex's loss is Middlesex's .... loss!

That is a well used Essex response when scrutiny is placed on their decisions. I seem to recall the Club stating that Tudor was on a performance related contract, (or was that 'fitness' related one?) when general disbelief and stifled hilarity greeted his unveiling. It's known as 'justification' of a questionable decision .....or getting an excuse in first!

Bravo is doing alright at Middx.
Guess it was just the curse of Larry in effect again.
