Has expected - voted through .
-
At least Essex voted to reflect their supporters views & not with (1.3m) pound signs in their eyes!!
I suspect in 6/7 years time we can say 'I told you so'
-
We wondered what happened to Surrey, who were supposedly so against it?

The ECB had a 'quiet word' with them. Reminded them that Test match allocation was due shortly.

Pretty emphatic 38-2 (Us & Middx) with 1 abstention (Kent), Turkeys voting for Christmas I think.Interesting how Sorry ended up voting in favour despite having misgivings - funny how the lure of money changes viewpoints for some, others have said the money will benefit the game in their Counties & protect all forms of the game.... Really??
Perhaps in 2024/5 when Counties get a greatly reduced payout they may think differently, just prior to either losing FC status or becoming part time.

The only thing we can do is get behind the Essex Eagles, spend our T20 pound
on the blast, and if any of our mates are tempted to watch the Southern Softies v The Northern Numpties , or whatever the franchises are called, try to convince them that Eagles v Sharks is a cheaper and more genuine sporting contest.
-
Not sure our T20 will be cheaper than Graves's, particularly if they use Stratford and want to fill it.
-
It's all started to get messy. Salary caps are based on a percentage of income made by the ECB and as a result of the income from the TV rights could see the profits rise threefold. Some
bright spark has realised that the better off counties could use this extra income to pay higher wages rather than pay down debts. So perhaps the gravy train is already starting to be derailed. Oh and they are going to charge £8 or £9 for a pint. I suppose we could use any new found funds to get a scoreboard that works. We can but dream.
-
Looks like the T20 Franchise is following the premiership business model, some counties will go bust. I guess this is what the ECB want !!!

Anyone who thinks the extra income will be used for the greater good is deluded. The money will go to players, agents and execs.

That is what is so annoying, peddling the same lies and seeing the same mistakes, football outside elite clubs and their youth training facilities is in a parlous state likewise amateur cricket and the counties are all broke and that's after the introduction of the original T20 that was supposed to bring in people and money. How much better off is Australian domestic cricket or Indian these days following their T20 developments. I guess you can keep espousing the same lies time and again, look at the Tories, they always say they're hot on law and order and economic competence.

So Sky have got exclusive live coverage of this and everything else. So much for this being on non-pay tv.
-
And now BBC have announced they've got live coverage too. Funny how that didn't get mentioned on Sky!
