So the solution for the long game according to Colin Graves is to shorten it!!!
Words fail me (unusually for me), has he really thought this through - I think not. Why not go the whole hog & make Tests 1 day matches with ,say , 25 overs maximum per innings & you could then squeeze 100 0vers into a day even at the slowish pace of Test cricket.
As for the low attendances at Tests early this summer, who allocated Tests to the traditionally chillier North of England early in the season?
The ECB also need to look at the pricing policy of Test Cricket ie make it affordable for all otherwise many ordinary fans will be priced out of the market.
Test cricket is still the ultimate for players, one day cricket has it's place but NOT at the expense of 5 day cricket, The Ashes for example still endures & I believe always will .As regards the allocation of Test matches maybe the solution is along the lines of Lords & The Oval getting one each with ,say OT,Durham & Headingley rotating, Edgbaston & Trent Bridge similarly & SWALEC & Ageas Bowl also, with a similar rota for T20/1 Day Internationals rather than always going to the highest bidder - just look at the financial problems Glam & Durham have had with Tests.

Colin Graves is a tool. End of.

Lord's is practically sold out for a dead rubber.
Come back Giles Clarke all is forgiven.

At the risk of ridicule I agree with shorter Test Matches but the number of overs per day should increase. So, for example, 4 days @ 96 overs /day with swinging penalties for not bowling the overs on time.

Not sure this is necessary - the threat to hang tardy bowling rates, I mean.

I bet he wasn't allowed anywhere near the mic at Lords, telling people to take on board plenty of liquid," preferably Water"- the Bar Managers would have been livid!

There's nothing wrong with a good covering of lard.
