Alastair.

Should get his name right as he's been playing Test cricket for nearly ten years and a dozen for ECCC!

Lived in Witham, Wickham Bishops and played for Maldon. Although we shouldn't hold the latter against him.

Many congratulations on a fantastic achievement by Ally, truly ALL Essex followers should be proud of him - I certainly am, he is a credit to Essex & England, modest with it & a gentleman as well. He is not the prettiest to watch but very effective & totally reliable, also doesn't shoot his mouth off like some (The Ego) & plays for the team unlike some (The Ego).
Look forward to seeing him in Essex colours again (whenever that is!!)

So little old Colchester can match the crowd of an England home Test Match on a Bank Holiday.
Well done Slogger for talking up the case for Colchester to continue!   ;)

And well done to Cookie.

Well done Alastair! The interview with him on channel 5 was enjoyable - he is so modest and a real 'team' player.

We should be proud of him and his mentor Graham Gooch.

When you can see two ECCC batsmen with 10000 runs, then you need to worry.
