In the past few years the only group game to sell out has been the Surrey game, unfortunate for the club that this game was played on a Saturday afternoon early in the year.

Don't be too harsh on the lads - three debutants in this format over the two matches and only playing you'd suspect due to injuries, just one of those things.

I suspect (and I don't agree with it) that Tendo and Foster were held back to give us some experience at the end of the innings but had they batted higher the reality is we might have had a chance going into the last five overs.

As for the empty seats, a Saturday afternoon when the match is on Sky live, PL football still going on and club cricket = not a full house!!!  If the Friday night games don't sell out either then start to panic...

The Club failed to sell out a home quarter-final last season, on a Saturday evening with no competing football, live or televised. The reality is ECCC are completely dependent on the Friday night crowd, fresh off the train to populate these matches. Let's not kid ourselves; The County Ground has a capacity of under six thousand!

Here's the dichotomy; Having not attended a T20 match for a long-time, but know plenty who have, mainly members, they raise issues of how many people the generally aggressive and alcohol fueled atmosphere (prevalent on Friday) dissuades potential punters from attending....
