Scoreboard
« on: April 19, 2015, 03:50:29 PM »
Good evening,

An apology for the issues experienced with the scoreboard today - we went through some in-depth testing prior to today. However, the wi fi connection was not sufficient. A large % of our wi fi capacity is absorbed by the media.

Overnight we will be attempting to network link the cable connection from the system to the scoreboard. Rest assured we will be doing all we can to fix this as a matter of urgency, hopefully this will be for the start of play tomorrow.

Apologies again and thanks for your patience, Danny Macklin, Commercial Director.

Danny, did anyone try switching the computer and scoreboard off - then turning them on again? I hope you're not still using Windows Vista.  ;)

I can assure you we did but until full wi fi usage levels were known we were unable to test in a live environment so to speak

Would have preferred (when the scoreboard was working) to have information about who actually was involved in taking the wicket, not just the words 'caught or bowled'.

Vista? You'll be lucky - more likely still on Windows98

Evening

It is in the Pavilion and Premier suite. We investigated the cost to install ground wide and was a large five figure sum. It is our aim to install across the new ground post redevelopment. Thanks

When it worked it was fine apart from not showing the name of who 'Caught' etc, had to laugh when the standby (little scoreboard above Premier Suite ) also gave up the ghost!! Better luck tomorrow.

When Essex bat a lack of scoreboard could be considered an act of kindness.

To lose one scoreboard may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.
