Washes 2022
« on: January 23, 2022, 12:46:34 PM »
Another washout abandonment and a first game defeat leaves England already 4-2 down, in the format and could almost out the contest before it has begun. Familiar to the men, having almost no cricket and weather has quickly bought their downfall. Will need to win the test match, where four points are available, to have any hope in the contest.

A dramatic draw in the only Test with all results possible with two deliveries remaining and the Washes still on the line. England set a record run chase for victory were on course until the middle order wickets went toopromptly with a run a ball run rate in the last ten overs. However one day play and one side fielding put the handbrake on, and the final pair having to see out the last two overs but victory a tantalising two big blows away.
Who said a test draw could not be entertaining.

Unfortunately the women (just like the gents) could not see the job home with the bat, after a sterling performance with the ball.
The Washes now out to dry until the next time.

A final 10-4 result to the Aussies, with the four points only gained due to rain effective incomplete matches.
A big improvement required for the forthcoming World Cup tournament in New Zealand, but with no decent form over the winter months might be a struggle to get that momentum.
