Already talk of Foakes taking part at some point of the Indian leg of the tour. Actually Buttler has kept very well in the test .
I don't think I've ever seen Buttler keep better than he has in this match.
But given the exhausting conditions and the pace of the two tours, I could easily see Buttler rested for a game in India - wicket keeping on the subcontinent must be as exhausting as fast bowling. Wood & especially Broad looked absolutely shattered at the end of some quite short spells, I wouldn't be surprised to see  both of them rested for the next Test.

It's already been decided that Buttler will be missing some of the India matches - that's why Foakes is out there!

Stone makes Wood look like a paragon of reliability. Hope they've got the local St. John ambulance standing by.

Think we still have problems in the opening positions. Still to be convinced by the Burns, Sibley combo and Crawley looks a three. Judging by his innings at Lords at the end of last season, Lammonby looks like one to look out for has a future opener.

In other words...a good/proper game of cricket.

Will have done him good but he got lucky. Three 'umpires call' decisions went his way.

Agree he had some luck but I thought we saw a different Sibley in his playing of spin. A lot of judicious working of balls into spaces in the field for ones and twos.

I think Burns & Sibley should be our regular openers, Burns has done ok overall, there is no one better in CC, Sibley will come good as well if we stick with him.

Sibley was clearly lbw three times early in his innings. As Michael Holding kept saying last summer ,the umpire’s decision ruling is ludicrous. When the ball is shown to be hitting the wicket , the fielding team having risked losing a review to prove it,there is no justification for denying the umpire has made a mistake.
