Well that's it, dream over for this year!! Although we went close, sadly not close enough & 4 early defeats did the damage for us. Some great efforts by the youngsters over the games which bodes well for the future, interesting to see what team gets put out on Sunday v Sussex.

Just don't get why Snater is not batting higher up. I'm available for any cricket-related consultancy work.

So we have learned some lessons from this season's abbreviated tourney. Walter has become a player, great news. Nijjar has proved he can bowl in the bish bash stuff.

Several others sadly have not and won't be with us next year.

Names, Nat, names.

I imagine from the players  still out of contract they would like to retain Nijjar, Pepper and Allison. Patel, too, possibly. Tendo, obviously, if he wants to carry on.

And if Tendo leaves may be more money for keeping others.

I would let Snater and Chopra go.
I would keep  Tendo if he wants to stay, he still fit enough for another year or so.

Pick one of Pepper or Buttleman and release the other. Release Snater, Chopra and Patel. Quinn is lucky to have another year left.

Is Buttelman going to university? If he is I'd retain him. With big cuts coming at us from the ECB and uncertainty about membership next year (will people rejoin next year?) I can see quite a few being released.

A tricky one re Buttleman as he is a better keeper than Pepper but cannot really bat, Chopra should go, Walter indeed has done well & Nijjar worth keeping especially with an eye to 2022 & Harmer possibly playing for SA.
As has been said some difficult decisions for the Club (& many other Counties).

Plom's also shown some promise in the bish bash

If Tendo leaves I suspect we'll try top use the savings on recruiting an experienced player, if one is available and affordable

I think Tendo has shown once again how useful he still is to Essex in T20 as a batsman, top scoring on a number of occasions. I just hope he still wants to continue for us, he looks fit enough & hopefully has the desire.

I hope Tendo wants to carry on - it will be sad if he retires without a proper send-off :)

To me, and although past his prime he shows a Fletcher like ability to resurrect a top order collapse in white ball cricket. The Pity the younger and more talented Bopara couldn't do more than just last year's tournament.
