They ought to do something for us too ... I've not even had the long-promised Year Book .. have you?

If the club are smart they’d give members the option of a refund. They could even offer a structured reward system for those who wish to let the club keep their membership money. For example....75% refund - free bit of merchandise from the club shop. 50% refund - free ticket to a Blast match. 25% refund - day of hospitality at a red ball match. No refund - invitation to a dedicated Q&A evening with the playing squad, specifically the big names like Cook, Tendo etc.

Give members a reason to let the club keep their money. They want to be valued by the club they support and this would be a way to do that.

As for the retained players, we reap what we sow by offering deals to deadwood like Quinn which are now clogging up the budget. Players like him and Chopra aren’t needed anymore. Just save money and give the academy kids a chance instead.

A very good suggestion, hopefully Essex will be able to do something for the Members, maybe even priority for T20 tickets next year although many Members don't go to those games. Certainly the Club should do something.

That's a sensible solution. I would imagine that most members would happily donate this years' fees, if they are provided with the choice. However, to be told there will be no refunds, smacks of the same old No Change Essex way. Supposedly a members club, but operated by a few old boys and their mates, who run it as their private little club, with no debate, consensus, collaboration permitted.

I suspect most counties will be reluctant to return any monies to Members. There has been a deafening silence from Yorkshire on this matter. It is rumoured that they are keen to get a members only stream of the forthcoming 4 day matches as a way of mitigating any refunds. There will be a lot of shenanigans before this matter is resolved.

Looking at a new aerial shot of the ground it appears that the Hayes Close stand has been removed, along with the old Hayes Close toilets, and the stand situated at toilet corner.
I know it will not be needed this season, but was this mentioned at the Essex Forum?

No nothing about that was mentioned. Might it be temporary?
