I see that Yorkshire CCC have put most of their staff on furlough to claim the 80%.

This shows what a sad state of affair YCCC finances are in.

They were close to administration 2 years ago with Graves, surprise at the helm.

Without test match intervention or assistance they would be in a proper mess.

To be honest you'd be well advised to do this if you are an employer and you've no work for people. The govt picks up 80% of the tab - you can make up the other 20% and send everyone home for a few weeks without having to lay people off or make them redundant.

There are plenty of things to dislike about Graves but he's pumped a lot of his own money to save Yorkshire.

Yes, but he’s done his best to bankrupt the rest of the county game whilst picking up a nice return on his investment.

Yorkshire players and coaches now on furlough: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/52186508

"Yorkshire have become the first county to put players and coaches on furlough leave due to the coronavirus pandemic. Most non-playing staff at Headingley were placed on the government job retention scheme at the end of March. A number of the other 18 first-class counties have also put non-playing employees on furlough.

Yorkshire director of cricket Martyn Moxon contacted each player and member of staff individually after a board meeting on Friday.
“We’re in the midst of a national crisis and cricket is secondary at this moment,” the former Yorkshire and England opening batsman said.

Yes, so they are now only £18million [or so] in debt!

"These profits have enabled Yorkshire to make debt repayments of £3,800,000 in 2019 and £5,600,000 over the last two years combined. A record year has given Yorkshire the ability to reduce the net debt to £18,340,000 from its year end peak at 31st December 2016 of £24,636,000."
