Graves & Harrison - the gruesome twosome
« on: January 10, 2020, 05:18:16 PM »
Very interesting article in today's Daily Mail by Martin Samuel, an excellent & well informed sports writer, about these 2 gentlemen & what they are trying , many would say succeeding to ruin cricket as we know it, apparently Graves was responsible for setting up Costcutter supermarkets (I didn't know this prior to today, but it's not really surprising), he's obviously brought his 'business acumen' into cricket, as far as I can see nobody agrees with cutting Test cricket to 4 days amongst other things & most sane & sensible people don't agree with The 100, so why can't these 2 idiots see the damage they are causing to our great game?
For goodness sake please whoever has the power vote them out of the ECB at the first available opportunity & put in people like Alec Stewart who know what they are doing!!

I agree that Alec Stewart has a heart for the county game.  Harrison is an ex-county player who thinks that we must replicate the BBL and IPL.  I'm surprised that it's not universally known that Graves comes from Costcutter: nothing against cheapo retail chains but CG seems to follow a very parochial attitude i.e. Yorkshire first and last.

We can't replicate the BBL and IPL: for a start, we don't have the weather.    They've obviously not noticed that, despite a chunk of Graves' home county being underwater at the end of July.
