Same here, Alex, no chance we shall be watching the 16.4, just keeping an eye on the 50-over scorecards on our computers.  Will be good if we hear that one of 'our' lads has done something special in it, otherwise no interest at all.  As the saying goes, it's just not cricket.

You are all missing the point. The ECB do not want the likes of contributers on here at the Hundred. It is to get a whole new audience. Where from is anybodys guess.

The article yesterday on Cricinfo suggested that they thought we'd all accept it in the end:

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/the-hundred-2021-tom-harrison-defends-hundred-disruption-believes-reluctant-fans-will-find-a-place-for-it-1269829

I can think of a place.

I notice that the ECB are not giving the figure of how many tickets have been sold or just given away free. Now that the likes of Debenhams have closed down there are plenty of Mannequins they could put in the seats to make the grounds appear full.

Just giving this a bump on the 16.4's D-Day. I repeat, as tempting as I'm sure it will be to turn the TV over to Sky or BBC 2 over the next month or so, please don't do it. The less viewers it gets, the more unimpressed the broadcasters become and the more likely this gets consigned to the bin in future.

I will be having a look at BBC2 tonight. The same as driving past the scene of a nasty accident and not being able to stop having a quick peek.

TV viewing figures are determined by survey.

If you're not part of the survey it doesn't matter what you watch.

Not so for Sky. Every viewer is counted. Don't watch. Please.

I thought the whole point of this farce was that it was aired on terrestrial TV?

Whatever the real figures it will be trumpeted as a great success. I find it sickening how the pundits are crawling all over it for another hefty payday. They have no loyalty to cricket just their bank balances.

Just to demonstrate how interested we are in this rubbish, the following conversation took place here this morning:

Steve: Do you know which teams our lads are playing for?

Lynda: Not a clue.

Or are we counting all the ex players too?

Isn't it Dan Lawrence and Sam Cook?
