We really should have won needing 10 from the last over, credit to the Currans especially Tom for their death bowling, it was always close but Sorry always bowled slightly better than us & though they lost wickets regularly scored quickly enough, Finch played an excellent innings with good support from Sibley & Sam Curran. Ravi must be gutted having got Essex so near with the kind of innings he is capable of more often, we look a batsman light although Tamim Iqbal will certainly help there, neither Chopra or Lawrence looked comfortable opening. I think we will miss out this year but the CC is a much bigger prize to go for anyway.
A not quite full house although if you left your seat (Pavilion area) for any reason you were unlikely to get it back!!
Stewarding generally good but too many people standing up during play in the latter stages of the Essex innings & too many people allowed to stand at the side of & often in the metal gangway down to the Eagles Area getting in the way of others - something to be looked into!!

What's big Jesse doing at the moment?

Time?

Nathaniel!  Really.

Have you seen any of his boxing matches - he's a big lad, with all that pent up anger from the endless "which part of Australia do you come from?" I wouldn't argue with him...

Harmer?? He has played over 40 T20 games. Has an economy rate of under 7 which is pretty good
I stand corrected. I could have sworn I heard the Sky commentary team say he had only played one game. However I was three parts to the wind for most of the game, in an attempt to recreate the fortress Chelmsford atmosphere in my living room, so I may have misheard.

I was at the Roses match last night and despite it being a sell out there were hundreds of empty seats. Lots of touts buy tickets for games with the intention of selling them on, getting off the metro at OT there's always touts at the gates selling tickets. Then you have to factor in people who have bought tickets but then can't go due to whatever reason and the people who for some reason spend the whole night drinking at the bar rather than actually watching the game. Just because there are empty seats doesn't mean the game didn't sell out to be fair, I'm sure Essex couldn't care less whether the seat is filled or not as long as someone's paid for it. Just checked the ticket site and Glamorgan tomorrow is a sellout as well.
