ECB the gift that keeps on giving. And I was naive enough to think it was a plan a day.

Now it's off till 2020. Resign Graves and Harrison, resign!

The club will be pleased though.

3 more bites at that elusive cherry.

Actually the year 2020 would be the appropriate year for change to T20 when you think about it

Graves should be pensioned off by then ... hopefully.

See our chairman may have regretted his vote for "yes"

Bearing in mind those Counties not staging these matches are getting 1.3m each these Counties have not surprisingly gone for the easy option ie the 'sweetener' now, in many cases it will reduce or pay off long term/rising debts but more & more it resembles Turkeys voting for Christmas. It would be interesting to see the views of Forums of County Clubs who will stage matches eg Hants, Yorks etc.

What a pr@t. Suddenly realised in the cold light of November what he's voted for?

Sounds like someone who thought he was spending a boozy night with Jessica Ennis, only to wake up next to Jesse Ryder...

He and the other chairmen voted for nothing more than the fact that they were happy to explore the chance of a new competition.  In reality what he voted for was of no real relevance whatsoever as there is no firm proposal at this stage.

And Essex chairman Faragher claimed it was "not strictly correct" to say his country had agreed to the proposal.

"What I said was, when they came around for the vote, that I'm happy for the discussions to go forward subject to certain caveats," he told BBC Essex.

"One of those is that I can't fully agree to this until I have seen all the details. I need to know exactly what I'm signing up to.

"In principle, I will go along with it, but there has to be further consultation."

Utter piffle. Nothing has changed since he voted yes for negotiations.  His stated concerns were already obvious before the vote. Either he's a pr#t, he's stupid or trying to make himself look good when the lesser counties become minor counties.

If Hilliard was still chairman all of the above would apply.

JF should have realised how his vote would be interpreted. 'In favour in principle' means ... in favour!

He should resign now.

Nothing official has changed but there has probably been plenty of informal discussions between chairman since.  The fact is nothing concrete has been decided yet as result of the vote or otherwise.  It seems to have been a pretty pointless vote anyway as there was no concrete proposal to vote on.

Surrey commissioned an independent report and guess what? It says the city based tournament will produce no more income for counties than a system with all 18 involved. It's been shared with all of the counties so let's see how the ECB spin this.
