At last a decent T20 performance.

I've been really impressed with Zaidi.  I hope he gets given a chance to play in the longer form.

I' m too lazy to google it but I'm sure someone on here could enlighten me as to why Hants seem to have three overseas players.  I guess one has dual nationality perhaps.

Tino best is non overseas.  He replaced Fidel Edwards when he was injured.  Edwards is also non overseas.  Both Kolpaks.

Hampshire look pretty poor.  Missing quite a few players though which explains it.  No Vince, Wheater, Topley or Wood.  Adams and Smith not playing either.  They never looked like getting enough runs.

Lawrence bowled well again.  I thought Ravi captained well today.  He may be in trouble with the umpire.  He didn't want to go off, almost pleading with him to chance his decision.  From his reaction he obviously hit it but he took a while to go off.

All this talk of Ravis tantrum, but Tino best has been dropped for disciplinary reasons last night. What happened there?

He lost his temper and threw the ball at Zaidi.  It went for 4 overthrows so I'm not sure Essex were too worried.

I think cricket is far too sensitive about this sort of thing. Nothing better than a bit of needle - wouldn't attract any sanction in other countries. Dennis lilliee would be almost permanently banned if he were 40 years younger!

A comfortable win against the worst Hants 1 day side I've seen in years - even worse than the one we thrashed in T20 last year, our spinners bowled well especially Lawrence aided by well placed fields (good on Captain Ravi), Zaidi got a well deserved ovation for his 50 which won it for us, certainly 1 & possibly 2 poor LBW decisions against us  - Ravi definitely played with the bat first & Westley's also looked harsh, hope Ravi doesn't get in trouble for questioning his.
A much needed win & if we get 2/3 more in a row then who knows....
Good to hear a better atmosphere last night than the Gloucs game.

Bainton is getting a reputation for poor decisions.
